On stage - introductory of our first song

Recently, our Young & Youth group traveled to Anchorage to attend and sing at the Native New Life Musicale that is held during the Fur Rondy festivals. Altogether we had 24 travelers. We had 6 Chaperones, and elder and 17 youth that participated in this travel. This trip actually was just an idea in the month of June last summer. As the months came and went, there were some fundraises made and as the months came closer, we also started asking for donations.

We stayed at a very nice hotel and rented 3 vans. We did a whole lot of activities together. A lot of shopping & eating out, went to a 3D movie, went to the fair, some also went to the zoo and one of the highlights was the H2Oasis, that was pretty awesome for our youth. The night we performed was Saturday and we were the second to perform. Some, or most of our young group was very nervous but the performance itself was just great. We got applauded twice as we were on the stage, followed by as we were walking off the stage. Our young group got a lot of compliments which was pretty nice. This was one of the BIG events that has ever been planned and participated by our youth besides the Annual Singspirations that is held each year for the past 8 years. This trip is just positive and have shown this group of youth that with much anticipation, travels like this can happen.

We had full support from the community and from our church, which was very good. We are thankful & much appreciation for the following entities that made our travel possible; CVRF, Grant Aviation, ERA, Yute Air, Native Village of Kwinhagak, Qanirtuuq Inc, the Moravian Church, and all others who have made donations to give us support. Quyana Cakneq!
